Double Star

Two points of light which
Followed separate paths
Pass closer to each
Other in the night;

And seek to find more
Brightness than they knew
Before the world from
Darkness came to light.

While shining brightly
Each upon their own,
They find their closeness
Glows in dawnlike tones

Which softly grow to
Daylight from the dark,
And gleam from two more
Brightly than from one.

Together, now in love,
Or when apart,
Their light stays with them
Deep within the heart.
