Excerpt from Sea Meditation - Robert MacBride

The sea rolls easily up the warm beach,
Cooling the sand as it sinks among its grains.
My feet feel the comforting cushion beneath
As I walk through the surf and view the sunset;
A breath of sweet air caresses my face
Like life's first gentle stroke from a mother's hand.
The water gently bathes my feet;
The surf breaks around me and I am
Rocked by the Universe as I am cleansed by the sea.
The sun's last tiny ribbon of light
Recedes below the horizon as the twilight cools the earth;
Yet I feel warmth and light within me,
And I do not fear the dark..............
