Denial

In despair I came to you.
Before you I stood in silence
And thought that you did not hear me.
In anger I railed at you
As the sweet and sour taste of my rage
Turned to gut wrenching bitterness.
But you did hear my call,
And you did answer my cries.
It was I who chose not to listen.
